I was doing my Bible study when I came across verse 35, "Jesus wept." He wept because Martha and Mary were hurting deeply because the death of their brother Lazarus.  This is such a sweet reminder that He mourns with us when we are going through the toughest times of our lives, and even when we are going through the most amazing times of our lives. He is a compassionate God!

The biggest takeaway for me was that Jesus showed His emotions! So many times we feel as if we have to put a fake face on and pretend that everything is okay. But guess what guys?? Jesus did not. He wept and was emotional towards His friends. It IS okay to be upset and show emotions. Jesus lived a perfect life for us to use as a guide for our own lives; He showed emotions, so do not feel like you have to hide your own.

Just as in this story, there is a purpose for the pain we feel and go through. Through bringing Lazarus back to life, He brought many to Him. He works in our pain for the benefit of His kingdom.

Just know that in the hard times, joy is soon to follow!
